Should I monitor my trademark?

A trademark gives its holder rights for exclusive use of the mark in commerce. While it may deter some from copying attempts, it doesn't automatically protect against infringement. It's still the owner's responsibility to know when that happens. A trademark can then serve as a legal basis for enforcing owner's rights, extending their options of dealing with infringement.

Therefore, we would say trademark owners should perform some form of trademark monitoring. In the online space, infringement can be most commonly found on social media, marketplaces and websites. Business registers and trademark registers can also be a good source. You can regularly monitor most of these by yourself if you wish, or you can sign up for a trademark watch service that will go through (at least some of) these mediums for you and send your reports via email.
